Q) When I insert my WizMag CD (W-2, 1099, SUTA), it does not automatically start the Install Wizard.  What is happening?

A) A recent update to Windows XP disabled the AutoRun feature used to automatically start the Install Wizard program.

To open the Install Wizard:

  1. Open My Computer, then select the CD-ROM/DVD drive.
  2. Double-click on the file titled Autorun.exe.  This will open the Install Wizard program.

If you would like to install the programs manually, the files are in the following locations on the CD:

  • The Apps folder contains the installation program for the WizMag application.
  • The Adobe folder contains the installation program for Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • The Docs folder contains Adobe Acrobat files for the installation guide, program documentation and depending on the WizMag program a state addendum.
  • The Accuwage (W-2 program only) contains the installation program for AccuWage 2010, a program released by the SSA to test the validity of W-2 report files before submission.  Please note that it does not test to see if amounts reported for employees is correct or state records.
  • The Other folder contains the installation program for Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition.
